dementiacafeDementia cafés are where people with diagnosed dementia, their friends and carers can meet for informal support. Having a diagnosis of dementia can create fear and lead to isolation; the cafes provide a welcoming environment where everyone understands the challenges of the condition or caring for someone who is living with it. Drinks and biscuits are provided. At a typical café we have a nostalgic quiz, a talk on a relevant subject, an information table and Dementia Support Worker is usually available to talk one-to-one if you need it.

The Alzheimer’s Society, in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council holds six Dementia Cafes in the city.
