Scope of service:

  • People over 24
  • People in Primary Care Mental Health
  • People in (or discharged from) Secondary Care Mental Health
  • People with dual diagnosis i.e. substance misuse, long term physical conditions etc.
  • Carers of mental health service users

The service will assist targeted participants progress their journey towards employment.  The service will consist of a variety of skills-mix involving specialists such as employment support, employment retention and education, training and volunteering. Providing advice and training to potential employers on reasonable adjustments and retention of employees where necessary. The underlying aim will be to support individuals with the hope that they rely less on mental health services as a result, as achieving employment has been evidenced as maintaining people’s recovery. 

 

 European Structure & Investment Fund (ESIF) Vocational Specialist

We are looking to recruit 3 Vocational Specialists within the Black Country in Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust based at various locations in Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

You will be required to proactively manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health problems who are unemployed and economically inactive. The Trust has secured funding from the Big Lottery and European Social Fund to provide employment support for our client group who are furthest away from the job market to move them closer to employment, in the hope that these achievements aid individuals’ recovery.

The successful candidates will be part of Dudley and Walsall’s Employment Service, who are a Centre of Excellence for the Individual Placement and Support Model of Vocational Rehabilitation.

You will be working in the multi-disciplinary team with service users with complex needs identifying and supporting them move into employment and sustain this or other recovery and social inclusion goals, in conjunction with key stakeholders.

This would include educational, voluntary work and pre-vocational training opportunities, and support for employers on reasonable adjustments and retention of employees where necessary.

Two roles at 37.5 hours, and one role at 22.5 hours.  These are the proposed hours; however, there may be some flexibility of hours across the posts, which can be discussed with candidates.
