aids-ribbonWorld Aids Day – 1st December 2016

#ItsNotOver

On Thursday 1st December 2016, Terrence Higgins Trust will be celebrating World AIDS Day.

World AIDS Day is ‘a day for people across the world to unite in support of the fight against HIV; A  day to reflect on how far we’ve come, and how far we’ve still got to go’ (tht.org.uk).

We would like to invite you to our Wolverhampton WAD awareness event where we will be focusing on the charities theme for this year #ItsNotOver.

The event will be held at;

The Chubb Buildings

Fryer Street

Wolverhampton

WV1 1HT

Thursday 1st December – 11.00am to 3:00pm

This free event aims to raise awareness of current issues in the field of HIV and to share and celebrate progressive developments made in HIV early diagnosis and treatments.  There will be the opportunity to review the current picture of HIV locally, nationally and globally. We will challenge the stigma still faced by people living with HIV as well as addressing local issues in Wolverhampton.

During the day we will be honoured http://trueviagraonline.com with the presence of Wolverhampton Mayor, Councillor Barry Findlay in support of our celebrations and awareness event.

Dr A. Tariq,  Consultant in Genitourinary medicine will be our confirmed guest speaker on the day. We are also pleased to present a shared narrative from a positive speaker on their experiences and challenges of living with HIV.

There will also be a quiet area for both remembrance & reflection with the opportunity to light a candle and remember those we have lost.

There will be a marketplace of partner organisations for networking opportunities as well as information packs on HIV/AIDS awareness to take away. A buffet lunch will be provided for all registered attendees.

Please complete the booking form below to confirm your attendance. If you are interested in hosting a stall at the event please contact  Tracey.gibbs@tht.org.uk or on 01902 711818 or 07468726055.

We would like to invite all guests attending to wear something red on the day as a sign of solidarity and commitment.
