Talent Match is funded by the Big Lottery. Black Country Impact –  this project is receiving up to £34 million of funding made up of £17 million from the European Social Fund and £17 million from the Youth Employment Initiative, plus match funding of up to £8 million from the Big Lottery Fund and funding from partners.

Black Country Talent Match is a 5 year project supporting young adults aged 18-29 who have been out of work, training or education for at least 6 months and who require additional support to overcome specific barriers to employment.

The aim of the project is to enable young adults who are furthest away from being work ready to secure or take up enterprising and/or job opportunities, by improving their confidence and optimism by offering intensive support through the provision of solution focused mentors.

Last Thursday, they hosted a “Pick Something New” Event in order to showcase their Preferred Supplier Network who offer support and training opportunities to Mentees.

The turnout was great and the room stayed upbeat and busy for the three hours the event ran, 1-4pm.

The main aim of this event was to further aspirations and expose the Mentees on programme to the wide range of Providers available.

Mentees and Mentors got to meet with over 25 organisations at The Hawthorns Football Stadium by visiting stalls where lots of creative and engaging activities were going on.

Alongside this there were 7 workshops running where Mentees could interact further with the Providers and get tasters of what support and training was being offered.

The event received excellent feedback from both the Providers and guests. Safe to say the event was a success!
