Counsellor – Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (Wolverhampton)

We have a vacancy for an experienced Counsellor to set up and deliver a new service, providing free, confidential counselling and support service for victims of domestic violence and abuse in Wolverhampton to help them recover and move on with their lives.

This project is a partnership between Relate Birmingham and the Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum and the service is funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, initially for a 12 month period.

You will act as main point of contact for the service, building relationships with the Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum partnership, IDVAs and other local organisations to identify referrals.  You will deliver up to 9 hours each week of one to one counselling and group work to victims of domestic violence and monitor and report on outcomes for clients.
The successful applicant will be a qualified counsellor, with relevant experience providing counselling and group work in a similar role or environment and an up to date knowledge of domestic violence and abuse.  You’ll have good interpersonal and networking skills, good IT skills and experience of project/service delivery and reporting.

The post will be based initially at our office in Wolverhampton but there is scope to deliver from community venues in the City as the project develops.

 

Salary: £26,000 PA pro-rata
