Apprentice Project Assistant (12 month FTC)

37  hours per week, £3.50 per hour (if under 19 yrs old and in 1st yr of apprenticeship)

 

We are seeking to appoint an apprentice to provide administrative support to the BBO BRIDGES Programme which is designed to meet the criteria of the European Social Fund’s (ESF) Investment Priority.  GSCC are working in partnership to ensure active inclusion which aims to tackle the root cause of poverty and barriers that prevent disadvantaged groups entering the labour market.

 

Working under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the post holder will coordinate and plan the administration of a series of training development, coaching and/or mentoring sessions for participants facing disadvantage. The role will involve: providing administrative support, filing, arranging training sessions, planning and organising meetings, appointments, dealing with session registration, MIS updates, ensuring participants sign in and out when attending, liaising with internal and external customers, monitoring and tracking project progress, dealing with telephone/email enquiries and customer facing queries.  You will also assist in providing practical support for participants before, during and after sessions; working with the Training & Development Co-ordinator, Outreach Support Worker and volunteers to ensure sessions are delivered to the highest possible standards; helping to assist in the support of activities within the project remit and providing practical and administrative support to other BBO Bridges activities as directed.

 

Personal Qualities: The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to work as part of an effective team.

 

Skills: Previous experience of community project work, or working with disadvantaged groups, particularly the long term unemployed, either as a volunteer or in a paid role is an advantage.

 

Entry Requirements: The successful candidate will have a GCSE pass in English, be computer literate and hold a full, clean driving licence (highly desirable but not essential).

 

Hours: You will work 18.5 hours per week for the BBO Bridges Project and the remaining 18.5 hours working to support another similar project.
