West Midlands Violence Prevention Alliance Conference

On: Friday 14th July 2017

From: 10:00 to 16:00

At: Edgbaston Stadium, The County Ground, Edgbaston, Birmingham B5 7QU.

Potential delegates from Wolverhampton are strongly encouraged to consider attending this important event organised by the West Midlands Violence Prevention Alliance and based on evidence of what works to prevent violence gathered by WMVPA over the past two years, and focusing on the fact that intervening early, both in life and in the violence journey, is essential to changing future outcomes.

The conference will share more widely the evidence and learning from four interventions that have been piloted locally across health, police and education:

  • Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP)
  • Injury Surveillance Project
  • Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS)
  • Redthread Youth Violence Intervention Programme

This conference aims to challenge and support all partners across the West Midlands, to better understand how the interventions address their individual and collective priorities. It is also an opportunity to share how the Alliance can support wider implementation and enable improved quality, better individual and population level outcomes and reduce the demand for services.

If you have any questions about the conference, please send an email to events@phe.gov.uk.
