The roles and responsibilities of Trustees, Directors. Committees, Staff, Volunteers and Membership in the Governance of Faith Based Community Organisations and Places of Worship. A half day workshop that will explore topics of interest including What is an Accountable Body Understanding Organisational Language Choosing a Legal Structure The Charitable Context Ensuring Trust & Credibility Why Risk Management Showing Who’s Involved Visionary Thinking Operational Planning Policy & Procedure The Good Committee Clear Budgeting Involving and Sharing Work  Supported by examples and good practice handouts using real life experience of national and local situations from a wide range of organisations and communities.

Suitable for: Anyone who wants to fully understand their organisation and help it to achieve better governance and practice. Valuable for faith based organisations and those working with them to deliver informed governance that meets UK law and upholds the highest values of faith teachings.

No previous experience is necessary, just bring a willingness to share with and learn from others.  Workshop  Lead   John McCallum is the Near Neighbours East Midlands Coordinator.  John has 30 years of experience in the faith based voluntary sector and has worked across the UK with very local and national organisations. He has been involved in the creation and management of numerous organisations and is a trustee of a neighbourhood charity and an international development organisation.
