The Way Youth Zone has been successful in securing additional funds to support our outreach activities across Wolverhampton.
We are seeking to recruit a team of four suitably experienced youth workers to support our city-wide and targeted outreach activities. We have funding for 3 years for this project.

 

Outreach Worker
To be part of a team that deliver an effective targeted (geographically and thematically specific) and universal (city wide) outreach programme that successfully engages young people to become members of WYZ.

You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate use of project resources and work collaboratively with WYZ staff, volunteers and young people to realise our outreach and engagement ambitions. You will also work with the Outreach Lead to use effective and relevant systems to monitor and measure the impact of our outreach activities and where possible promote the project’s success.

You will be creative to encourage and enable young people to participate in the full range of activities provided by WYZ and work directly with children and young people, establishing positive relationships, to develop their social skills and build their confidence by delivering programmes of activities and services.

Working with the wider team you will help to design and deliver a high-quality programme of activity that is exciting, safe, varied, innovative, accessible, developmental and directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns and interests of the young people. You will encourage the participation of young people in activities and ensure that their ideas contribute fully in the design, delivery and evaluation of activities.

This role requires a flexible working pattern and you will be expected to work evenings and weekends.

 

Salary: Up to £8.50 per hour
Location: Wolverhampton
