The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) is a well-established, award winning regional charity with headquarters in Wolverhampton and operating across the Black Country and Birmingham.

RMC is seeking to appoint an experienced person with a financial background to join our Board of Trustees as treasurer, our long standing treasurer has stood down for personal reasons. RMC is in a stable financial position, has a broad and diverse funding base and healthy reserves.

The Trustee Treasurer will lead on financial matters for the Board, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals on its financial health, in line with best practice, and in compliance with the governing document and legal requirements. RMC employs experienced staff who deal with the management of day to day financial matters. The senior managers (CEO and the Deputy CEO) are fully involved in the managing of funding streams and associated budgets. The treasurer will work closely with members of the Finance sub-committee.

This non remunerated, voluntary role would be a Financial Sub-Committee member and dedicate no more than a day every 6 weeks to the treasurer duties in addition to attending 7-8 board meetings annually. The ideal candidate would have an understanding of charity boards and governance and be sympathetic to our ethos and values. Given that this role will be part of a highly regulated and reputable charity the appropriate checks will be carried out.
