The City of Wolverhampton Council and West Midlands Lieutenancy would like to invite volunteer groups to this year’s Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Workshop in June, to support organisations in completing a nomination form.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest civil Award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work taking place in communities. It is the MBE for volunteer groups. Last year, awards were presented to seven volunteer groups in the City of Wolverhampton.

Support will be available from Deputy Lieutenants and City of Wolverhampton Council employees. Groups will be paired with an officer who will work with them to develop and submit their nomination. There will also be an opportunity to hear from those who have successfully been through the process.

If you would like to attend the workshop please contact Caitlin O’Hara on caitlin.ohara@wolverhampton.gov.uk

Please note: workshop places are limited and to be eligible for an award, your group must have been operating at a high standard for at least 3 years, involve two or more people and more than half of the team must be volunteers.

For details about the event date/venue, please contact the council directly on the email address above.
