Grab a drink, take a seat and relax for an evening with Amy & Kelly!

Pint of Queer is a chance for you to find out what being transgender is really like, from someone who is going through transition right now. You will hear the highs and lows of Amy’s story so far.

The media attention surrounding the topic of transgender issues has created more questions than answers which can add to our anxieties and even prevent us from wanting to interact with a trans or gender diverse person, suggesting that we need to take a “tip-toe” approach, we will teach you otherwise.

You will have the opportunity to ask the questions you’ve always wanted to know. Amy is frank, honest and explains things in a way which can make you laugh, smile and cry all within the space of 10 minutes.

By the end of the evening we hope that you not only understand a little better but also consider yourself an ally of trans and gender diverse people, seeing them as just another human who wishes to be treated with respect and dignity.

In order for you to apply what you learn to any work, learning or social environment we will also help you to understand;
• Pronouns and terminology
• Discrimination
• Issues that trans and gender diverse people face
