The Wolverhampton CompactThe Wolverhampton Compact is a commitment between the Statutory Sector and Voluntary and Community Sector in Wolverhampton which aims to ensure we work better together.

The Wolverhampton Compact Partnership came together in 2004 to develop the Compact document, which was launched in April 2005. Since formulating Wolverhampton’s Compact, the national Compact has had two major reviews and updates. The context within which we are working has changed considerably since 2005, so WVSC and City of Wolverhampton Council undertook at review process, working with groups from Voluntary and Community and Statutory Sectors.

We ascertained that there was an appetite to refresh Wolverhampton Compact and in particular to implement the agreed principles. In 2017 a new Wolverhampton Compact has been written, based on the national Compact and will be overseen by the Inclusion Board, which sits within the City Board structure. There is currently a phase of checking and consulting both sectors on the format and principles of the refreshed Compact during August and September with final sign-off at the October City Board meeting. It is intended that the refreshed Wolverhampton Compact will be launched during Compact Week in November 2017.

The Compact is a one page document with links to further detail behind each principle. All of which can be found here.
